If you have an existing AVS remote additional remotes can be coded in to your AVS car alarm. You can purchase new remotes through*:
If you know your PIN code you can use this for emergency disarm. Please read the relevant troubleshooting page for your AVS car alarm or in your owner’s manual.
If you do not know your PIN code please contact your AVS installer or local AVS dealer. Your AVS car alarm may need to be reset before new remotes can be coded in. Charges will apply.
It is likely the car battery is flat. Your AVS car alarm draws such a small amount of power it can be armed and disarmed (just like you can still see the dash lights) but the car does not have enough power to start. You will need to replace or re-charge the car battery.
Please note: If jump-starting the car please use protected jumper leads as failure to do so can do irreparable damage to the alarm system (and your car’s computer system) and will void your car alarm warranty.
AVS car alarms have been designed to draw as small an amount of current from your car battery as possible (<20mA). As long as the car’s battery is in good condition your car alarm should not adversely affect most car’s batteries if left unattended for up to about three weeks.
