AVS 3010 car alarm

I have lost or damaged both my remotes. How do I start the car?

Getting the car started

You can start the car by using PIN code override for emergency disarm. These instructions are included in the owners manual.  Please note you will need the PIN code for this procedure.

Purchasing new remotes

New remote/s can be coded in to your AVS car alarm. You can purchase new remotes through*:

  1. Your local AVS dealer. Take the car into your AVS dealer, or, in some areas, a mobile service is available (charges will apply). Please call your AVS dealer first.
  2. You can buy AVS remotes online.

If you do not know your PIN code

Please contact your AVS installer or local AVS dealer. Your AVS car alarm may need to be reset before new remotes can be coded in. Charges will apply.

My car alarm chirps more than once when I arm the system?

Your AVS car alarm is warning you that a door or bonnet/boot is open. Disarm the car alarm, correct the problem and start again.

I disarmed the car alarm a few minutes ago but now it is armed again?

Your AVS car alarm has a feature called automatic re-arm and re-lock which will re-arm the car alarm and re-lock the doors (if central locking is connected) if it is disarmed and a door not opened within 30 seconds. This feature can be turned off by your AVS installer or local AVS dealer.

The remote still locks/unlocks the doors but the car alarm doesn’t work?

Your AVS car alarm has been put in to valet mode which will stop the car alarm arming (it is useful if your vehicle is being serviced or repaired. To exit valet mode:

  1. Turn the ignition on.
  2. Push and hold the bottom button on the remote for two seconds.
  3. The siren will chirp 10 times confirming valet mode is off.

Please note: this procedure will also turn valet mode on.
