Sensors

AVS has a comprehensive range of sensors for your AVS alarm to help you maximise the security of your vehicle. Check out the sensor range in the Manta Electronics online catalogue or browse from the links below.

AVS Car Alarm Sensors

AVS Air pressure sensor

Detects a sudden change in air pressure from inside the car to the outside environment caused by fast intrusions such as a door being opened or a car window broken.

AVS Digital tilt sensor

Normal sensors like shock sensors will NOT protect the wheels so this i is an essential upgrade if you have mags. The AVS digital tilt sensor sets itself to the angle you are parked on when you arm the alarm. If the car is tilted in ANY direction from one degree it triggers the alarm.

AVS Glass break sensor

Helps protect the cabin of the vehicle by triggering your AVS alarm if the sound of breaking glass is detected, such as a car window being smashed.

AVS Microwave sensor

Works by picking up physical movement or body mass movement. Microwave sensors are great for convertible vehicles as the alarm can be armed with the top down. If anyone climbs over the doors the sensor will detect the movement and trigger the alarm.

AVS PIR sensor

This is the best sensor to use to protect the rear of vans or trucks as it uses infrared to detect body heat and movement. The AVS PIR uses a unique four element PIR so it is more stable in the variable heat conditions inside a vehicle compared with a standard PIR.

AVS Reed switch

If you have a ute with a canopy we recommend fitting a magnetic reed switch. A reed switch will trigger the alarm if its two halves are parted while the car alarm is armed. So one side is mounted on the canopy and one on the ute.

AVS Shock sensor

Picks up an impact to the body of the vehicle, such as someone hitting a door panel. Available in single or dual stage.

AVS Ultrasonic sensor

Triggers the alarm if a change in air pressure or movement is detected in the cabin of the vehicle. It does this by transmitting ultrasonic sound waves (like a bat’s sonar) around the interior of the vehicle. It is a good upgrade if you carry goods or have a large car.
