Alarms don't like to get wet just as much as the rest of us thats why when its raining lots you need to take good care of them.
1. Make sure your siren is in a dry location where no water can get to it from rotating wheels, water drains etc. Also make sure the siren is pointing down to prevent water from easilly entering into the siren. We would make them waterproof but then no sound would be able to get out!
2. Check your bonnet pin isnt rusting up. A quick spray with CRC while pushing the pin up and down is always good preventative maintenance to avoid false alarms from your bonnet pin. The salt in our air effects standard bonnet pins which are made from steel but not our brass switch which you can easilly upgrade to by contacting us or your local AVS dealer.
3. Check your battery is getting the correct charge from the Alternator and holding a charge. Wet weather effects all electronic components so these need to be checked also by your local dealer to make sure you dont run into problems.
4. Make sure you turn lights etc off when leaving the car. Flat batteries account for 95% of our techincal help calls and lights are easilly left on during rainy days when they are not as obvious.
5. Keep older remotes dry! Our current remotes are all waterproof but our older model remotes are not and if they get wet and you attempt to use them will most probably fail.
